Responsibilities
- Select all equipment needed for the sewing process, including setting up machines and peripherals, and using tools such as scissors, knives, fasteners, stiffeners, templates, and measuring devices
- Monitor machine operation, including fixing attachments like needles, threads, pattern plates, or cutting blades
- Inspect products after rendering
- Keep records of orders processed
- Separate quality-passed garments from defective or lower-quality garments for correction or disposal
- Ensure textile parts are in correct sequences and confirm color lots and textile patterns match
Skills
- Ability to work on sewing machines in a manufacturing environment
- Good organizational skills for sorting and cutting textile parts
- High hand dexterity to operate sewing machines
- Basic interpersonal skills
- Initiative in completing tasks
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Physical Demands
- Regularly lift and stack products ranging from 5 to 65 pounds
- Capable of sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting, or walking for extended periods
- Work in a temperature-controlled environment
- Ability to work additional hours and up to seven days a week, as needed
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
Schedule
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are dependent on the assigned shift.
Qualifications
- High school diploma is sufficient; past experience in manufacturing sewing operations is beneficial
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
