Monday–Friday, 3 pm–11 pm shift.
Responsibilities
- Supply Floats/Rolls to the Sew-On:
- Obtain list of Floats/Rolls to be coated from Sew-On Ticket Clerk.
- Notify Coater Supervisor if a Float/Roll is missing from its proper location.
- Transport Floats/Rolls to the Coater Staging area and line them up in coating sequence.
- Remove empty floats from the Coater Sew-On area and replace them with the next Float/Roll in sequence.
- Align Float/Roll under the Pull Roller at the Coater Sew-On.
- Assist Sew-On Operator in preparing carpet:
- Pull the end of the top roll over the side of the float or off the roll.
- Inspect carpet to ensure it has been dried.
- Align carpet on the sewing-machine table, minimizing seam size.
- Measure carpet width when instructed by the Sew-On Ticket Clerk.
- Determine condition of roll cores and place them in the designated area.
- Transport empty floats to the warehouse and place them in the Coral by the Multi-Tech; pick up and transport the next float on the list.
- Operate Lift Trucks:
- Complete Lift Truck Training Course and maintain a valid Lift Truck Driver’s License.
- Perform daily lift-truck service checks.
- Check the condition of the lift truck with the previous driver at shift start.
- Check gas bottle or battery at the beginning of each shift; replace low gas bottles or batteries promptly.
- Drive electric trucks to the battery-charging area for battery changes by the Lift Truck Mechanic.
