Set-Up Technician - B Shift

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose small engine problems
  • Maintain shop area cleanliness
  • Collect and dispose of trash
  • Clearly explain diagnoses and repairs to customers
  • Seek and participate in technical and product training
  • Show accuracy and thoroughness, improve and promote quality
  • Observe and follow safety and security procedures
  • Treat management and other employees respectfully
  • Respond promptly to management direction
  • Work with integrity, uphold company values
  • Mold set-up
  • Troubleshoot, make process adjustments
  • Document adjustments and results
  • Assist with operator breaks
  • Operate machine when needed and available
  • Clean hoppers, loaders, and filters
  • Place purging in purge buckets daily
  • Vacuum machine beds daily
  • Clean up oil spills or leaks
  • Absorb responsibility for preventative maintenance on tools
  • Train operators and ensure they are comfortable in their duties
  • Clean machines weekly
  • Organize molding supply cabinets
  • Backup supervisors during absences
  • Utilize six-sigma quality tools to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control processes
  • Maintain and support processes, procedures, and KPIs owned by your position
  • Review and complete training related to your job per HR LG 01 Training Matrix
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Thorough knowledge of plastic and/or molding processes
  • Knowledge of mold construction and components
  • Knowledge of properties of common injection moldable resins
  • Ability to lift and move materials as required
  • Ability to work in confined spaces

Physical Demands

  • Sit or stand as needed
  • Walk primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day
  • Reach above shoulder height, below the waist, or lift as required to reach documents or store materials throughout the workday
  • Use proper lifting techniques
  • Work in small confined spaces while following proper safety protocol

Work Environment

  • Exposure to manufacturing areas requiring personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, and other mandatory safety equipment
  • Ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment
