General Purpose of Job
Responsible for keeping all converting machines up and running, minimizing converting operator downtime. If all machines are running quality product, you’re expected to run production to maximize department throughput.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrates Converting Operator – Tier Two proficiencies to supervisor and lead.
- LOTO certified.
- Performs machine startup on all converting machines.
- Electric pallet jack certified.
- Operates roll lifts and hoists.
- Maintains monitoring of gas tank levels.
- Identifies and performs basic troubleshooting on half of the converting machines.
- Notifies lead setup tech or supervisor to contact maintenance when necessary.
- Prepares converting machines with the appropriate film or parts/materials needed.
- Performs quality checks when machine setup is complete.
- If all machines are running quality product, runs production.
- Actively ensures all machines are up and running smoothly, minimizing machine down time.
- Affords assistance to fellow converting setup techs and operators when able.
Qualifications and Skills
- Less than 3 attendance points.
- Misconduct can affect advancement opportunities.
- Ability and willingness to multi-task in a fast-paced factory environment.
- Basic computer and math skills.
- Capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling 60 lbs. unassisted.
- Can bend, twist, and stoop.
- Reliable mode of transportation.
- Can work necessary overtime to meet customer demands.
- Able to work on foot for extended periods of time.
- Dependable and works well with others.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Process control work experience.
- Mechanical inclination preferred.
- 1+ years of setup technician work experience.
- 3+ years of manufacturing work experience.
