About the role
The Process Technician is primarily responsible for setting up and maintaining automated molding equipment and providing technical support to commercial press molding.
Responsibilities
- Disassemble, clean and reassemble material handling equipment in a thorough and timely manner.
- Supply clean IPA used for cleaning to various departments.
- Maintain disposable equipment inventory levels using the Kanban system.
- Prepare and label solvent hazardous waste for disposal.
- Follow procedures for safe handling of flammable solvents.
- Assemble material handling equipment.
- Accurately record data on routers, QAD and other ERP systems used.
- Perform set-up of molding equipment on Vesta presses.
- Diagnose/troubleshoot processing issues on Vesta presses
- Provide technical support to daily production activities utilizing Vesta presses.
- Set-up and maintain manual secondary cutting and punching fixtures.
- Set-up and maintain automated cutting and punching equipment.
- Diagnose/troubleshoot vision inspection camera issues.
- Perform set-up of molding equipment on commercial presses.
- Diagnose/troubleshoot and repair material delivery systems.
- Diagnose/troubleshoot processing issues on Commercial presses
- Ability to wire heaters in parallel or series.
- Disassemble, clean and re-assemble cold runner systems.
- Set-up and maintain part handling automation equipment.
- Replace intricate mold components.
- Inspect, review and score mold conditions.
- Execute established molding DOEs.
- Balance a multi-drop cold runner utilizing sequential valve gates.
- Understand and follow SOPs pertaining to your area.
- Understand and follow Work Instructions pertaining to your area.
- Maintain Safety, Quality, Productivity, scrap, rework, utilization, and efficiency
- Other duties as assigned.
- Observe and promote Company standards and policies on safety, quality and productivity.
- Understand Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in medical device and clean room environment
- Support and observe 5S and other lean manufacturing methodologies.
Requirements
- Successful completion of four-years of high school, or equivalent is required.
- 5+ years of experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Experience performing mechanical, electrical, electronics, hydraulics or pneumatic systems repair (preferred).
- Basic understanding of Preventative Maintenance Programs and 5S principles
- Medical Device manufacturing and clean room environment experience is desired

- Able to convert units of measurement, add, subtract multiplication and division.
- Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner.
- Proficient in basic hand tools i.e. adjustable wrench, Allen keys, screwdrivers, ratchet and sockets
