Sessional Lecturer - EEB390H1S - Vertebrate Paleontology: Major Transitions in Vertebrate History
About the role
The successful candidate will teach EEB390H1S - Vertebrate Paleontology: Major Transitions in Vertebrate History, a course that highlights the evolutionary history of vertebrates through their fossil record. The course includes both lectures and lab practicals at the Royal Ontario Museum.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver 33% of lectures and laboratories
- Co-teach with a status-only faculty member from the Royal Ontario Museum
- Prepare and train teaching assistants
- Conduct office hours
- Supervise and grade tests, assignments, and examinations
Requirements
- Knowledge of vertebrate paleontology and ability to teach at a university level
- PhD in Vertebrate Paleontology
- Familiarity with the ROM vertebrate collection
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the university level
Preferred Qualifications
- Past experience teaching this course or a similar university-level course

The position offers a salary range based on experience:
- Sessional Lecturer I: $3,399.14 for Sessional Lecturer I ($3,637.73 for SLI Long Term)
- Sessional Lecturer II: $3,637.73 for Sessional Lecturer II ($3,724.35 for SLII Long Term)
- Sessional Lecturer III: $3,724.35 for Sessional Lecturer III ($3,817.83 for SLIII Long Term)

Excellent teaching skills, knowledge of vertebrate paleontology, and ability to work effectively with teaching assistants.

Schedule
Lectures: Mondays 11:00am-1:00pm
Labs: Tuesdays 1:00pm-4:00pm
