About the role
Cleans and refurbishes new and used automobiles to dealership and manufacturer specifications and time allowances.
Responsibilities
- Wash vehicle exterior, clean interior and exterior windows, and wipe down doorjambs.
- Apply wax to auto body, and wipe or buff surface.
- Vacuum interior of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris.
- Clean upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces using appropriate cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices.
- Apply revitalizers and preservation agents to interior vinyl or leather surfaces and treat fabrics with spot- and stain-resistant chemicals.
- Apply special-purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which normal cleaning procedures do not remove, utilizing experience and judgment and following product manufacturer's recommendations.
- Use proper eye, hand, and body protection when using products that require protection.
- Apply dressing on tires and tire wells.
- Keep work area neat and clean.
- Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Report any safety issues immediately to management.
- Clean engine and engine compartment with steam-cleaning equipment and various cleaning agents.
- Inspect vehicles for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery, and poor mechanical operation.
- Restore appearance of engine area, rugs and upholstery, and painted surfaces using touch-up paint, dyes, and other appropriate materials.
- Fill vehicle with fuel and replace missing or defective small parts.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs periodically and be on your feet throughout the day.
- Great eye for detail and a passion for cars.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using units of American money, weight, volume, and distance).
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Skills
- Previous experience in vehicle detailing is a plus, but not required.

Schedule
Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM (one weekend per month).
