Service Technician (Temp) - Union Chapel Hill (Student Living)
About the role
Greystar is a leading real estate platform managing and operating over $300 billion of real estate in more than 265 markets globally. This role involves completing assigned work orders, preventative maintenance, and supporting cost-cutting initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Completes assigned work orders and preventative maintenance tasks
- Completes the “make-ready” process for vacant apartments
- Accesses and returns materials and supplies from the maintenance department
- Documents service requests and paperwork accurately
- Maintains grounds, common areas, and amenities
- Supports cost-cutting programs by fixing rather than replacing parts
- Ensures compliance with safety and risk-management policies
- Inspects work performed by contractors and vendors
- Conducts routine property inspections
- Makes improvements and offers suggestions to enhance efficiency and productivity
- Keeps up-to-date with industry changes and applies knowledge to work
Requirements
Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, carrying objects, and crawling in confined areas. Incumbents must be able to work in all weather conditions and push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in property management or similar field preferred
- Knowledge of safety regulations and OSHA standards
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to follow safety protocols
