About the role

The Service Technician - SBE is responsible for repairing and reconditioning equipment in the profit center and/or customer locations. They are also responsible for installing equipment for customer accounts and diagnosing and correcting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues. Additionally, they provide customer assistance in resolving equipment-related questions, problems, or complaints.

Responsibilities

  • Calls on customers as assigned to investigate operating difficulties of equipment.
  • Diagnoses problems and figures out reasons and the nature of correction.
  • Makes repairs or adjustments to equipment to return it to working order.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment on location including exchanging decanters and cleaning brewers.
  • Documents work completed, including verifying closing calls, completing invoices, verifying assets, and any required customer documentation.
  • Repairs and refurbishes equipment; maintains spare parts levels.
  • Accurately collects work completed using a company-provided mobile device.
  • Maintains a good working relationship and liaison with customers to maintain a positive image of the company and its products.
  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled service activities including emergency service calls, preventative maintenance, surveys, and installations.
  • Maintains service area and vehicle in a clean and organized condition.
  • Follows company guidelines on safety and operates vehicles safely.
  • Completes weekly Driver Reports and follows guidelines in the Fleet Manual.
  • Follows all safety standards and policies set by manufacturers and the company.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Solid understanding in repairing small electrical appliances.
  • Willingness to learn how to connect equipment to water sources, add additional lines and drainage when necessary.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Acceptable driving record and qualified driver's license.

Skills

  • Basic understanding of electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of plumbing and water management.
  • Ability to work with copper, braided, and PEX lines.
