About the Role

Maintains essential tools, works safely and orderly, and cares for company machinery and equipment. Utilizes dealer computer systems for documentation, repairs or replaces defective parts, and ensures cost-effective repairs by reusing maximum parts. Creates and submits repair estimates, prepares parts requisitions, time cards, and service reports with accuracy. Works under guidance for component disassembly, repair, and testing, and may temporarily assume a lead role. Stays updated on technical industry changes and performs additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a minimum set of tools required for job performance.
  • Work in a neat, orderly, and safe manner while caring for and maintaining company machines and equipment.
  • Utilize dealer computer systems for work orders and other documentation.
  • Repair or replace defective parts on machinery and equipment.
  • Disassemble components and properly clean parts.
  • Inspect components to ensure maximum parts reuse to control repair costs.
  • Test, diagnose, and adjust failures of equipment.
  • Create repair estimates and submit information to substantiate quotes.
  • Prepare parts requisitions, time cards, or service reports as requested, ensuring legibility and accuracy.
  • Work under the guidance of a qualified technician in disassembly, repair, re-assembly, and testing of components.
  • Monitor job expenses versus repair estimates and notify the lead person of any cost overruns.
  • Assume the lead person position temporarily as necessary.
  • Maintain personal company service literature and stay aware of technical industry changes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to comprehend written material and communicate effectively with employees and customers.
  • Completion of standards outlined in the personnel achievement guideline or equivalent qualification.
  • Valid Class E Driver’s License.
  • Preferred: High school education with specialized technical coursework or equivalent experience as a Technician.
