About the role
At Mark-Taylor, we are seeking a Service Technician at Harmony at Hawes Crossing in Mesa, AZ. The primary responsibility is to handle maintenance repairs and contribute to the upkeep of the community, ensuring that our residents receive the five-star service that makes our communities feel like home.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the completion of make-ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintain an adequate supply of make-ready units for the community.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, electrical problems, plumbing problems, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs.
- Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
- Perform daily pool care, ensuring the pool is in proper chemical balance and the area is free of safety concerns.
- Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys.
- Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and correct the hazard to inform the Manager of Facilities and Service of the hazard.
- Share on-call duty with Manager of Facilities and Service, and service team members and is readily available to go the property if needed and in uniform/badge.
- Absorb inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.
Requirements
- General knowledge in plumbing, electrical, pool maintenance, HVAC, carpentry, landscape maintenance, appliances, and OSHA-related standards.
- EPA and CPO certifications are highly preferred.
- Knowledge of building systems.
- Service orientation.
- Basic computer skills.
- Experience as an apartment turn technician, make-ready technician, or work order technician is highly desirable.
- A basic understanding of written and verbal English.

Pay
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $22.00/hour. All service team members who participate in the on-call rotation receive an additional $3.00/hour incentive for all hours worked while on-call.
Schedule
Compensation varies based on experience and qualifications. Additional hourly pay for EPA, CPO, and OSHA certifications is also provided after 90 days of employment.
