Responsibilities

  • Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests to assess maintenance needs.
  • Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
  • Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, or parts.
  • Evaluate service and parts options to contain costs while delivering effective solutions.
  • Control corrosion and complete winterization procedures to prolong vehicle lifespan.
  • Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs for transparency and accountability.
  • Stay updated on federal and state vehicle regulations through ongoing education and training.
  • Adhere to safety protocols to ensure the well-being of yourself, colleagues, and customers.
  • Collaborate with team members and leadership to cultivate positive customer experiences.
  • Perform other dynamic duties as assigned to support business needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • For entry-level: some previous experience in automotive repair or heavy-duty truck maintenance, basic mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn.
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred or ability to obtain.
  • Dependable and reliable attendance.
  • For experienced level: completion of a diesel-focused technical school program and 2+ years of experience in maintenance and repair of commercial trucks, including engine diagnostics. Equivalent experience and formal education will be considered.

Medical & Safety Compliance

  • Must pass a baseline medical evaluation and respiratory fit test (per OSHA standards) to ensure safe use of PPE.
  • Maintain safety-compliance guidelines during daily operations.

Physical & Mental Demands

  • Frequently required to bend, squat, kneel, crawl/lay on back, reach away from body or shoulder height, climb or balance.
  • Lift up to 75 pounds; push or pull.
  • Work in areas with fumes, airborne particles, or vibration.
