Service Technician Apprentice
About the role
The Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic Apprentice performs light maintenance work under close supervision. This position is the first stage of training for service technician status. The apprentice will assist the service technician in heavy-duty truck repairs and attend training sessions to gain knowledge and experience.
Essential Functions
- Performs light maintenance work under supervision.
- Affords assistance to the service technician in heavy-duty truck repairs.
- Attends training sessions to gain knowledge and experience.
- Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- CDL permit preferred.
- Hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
- A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
- Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
