Service Technician and Programmer

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and perform some repair tasks on fire alarm or security systems.
• Respond to scheduled and emergency service requests and perform in-depth trouble shooting, repair, and/or replacement of system equipment.
• Program fire alarm systems or have experience with programming low voltage systems including fire alarm, nurse call, access control, security or CCTV.
• Frequently resolve problems through research of multiple alternatives.
• Communicate and interact effectively with other contractors and building owners.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
• Absorb and apply industry-related equipment including MS Office.
• Communicate project status to management.
• Complete all appropriate company paperwork as required.

Qualifications

• Experience with the following manufacturers: Edwards/EST, Kidde, Notifier, FireLite, Bosch, Silent Knight, DSC, Telguard, and Gamewell/FCI is preferred.
• Experience programming Edwards panels is a requirement for this role.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Proficient in the use and application of industry related equipment including MS Office.
• Excellent communications skills, using tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers.
• Regular, reliable, predictable attendance.

Physical Requirements

• Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing a ladder, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
• Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools as required and lifting to 75lbs.
