Service Technician (46965)

Essential Duties

• Repairs valves, actuators (electric and pneumatic), and instrumentation at a customer's facility or at the Swanson Flo in-house repair locations
• Calibrates field instruments such as level, pressure, temperature, and flow transmitters
• Diagnoses customer problems, proper use of tools and equipment, on-the-job safety practices, and proper job documentation
• Troubleshoots process control equipment, including valves, actuators, and process control instrumentation repairs, are commonly completed either at the customer site or at in-house repair facility
• Ensures that all service to customer equipment is completed efficiently, on time, and correctly according to specifications
• Affords assistance with shop assembly needs as time permits
• Contributes to building excellent company/customer relations
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 3 – 5 years' experience in the repair of valves and actuation preferred
• Knowledge of industrial instrumentation, controls, and setup is preferred
• A strong interest in product technology as well as proven mechanical ability
• People skills to work effectively with company personnel and customers, and promote excellent customer relationships at all times
• Ability to obtain safety certifications
• Ability to read and interpret written work instructions, P&ID's, wiring diagrams, technical manuals and has an understanding of basic math skills
• Mechanical ability (Welding and Machining experience a plus)
• Valid driver's license and clear driving record required
• Willingness to travel up to a week at a time when needed
