About the Role

Responsible for the preservation, make-ready repair, short and long-term storage maintenance, and the reconfiguration of USA Compression idle equipment, reporting to the Operations Service Manager (OSM). All USA Compression employees are responsible for maintaining a safe and professional work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow all safety and environmental policies.
  • Preserve and seal idle units as they return to the storage yards.
  • Roll over and re-preserve units that remain idle on a 180-day rotation.
  • Repair packages and make ready for redeployment into active status.
  • Perform major and minor scheduled maintenance procedures on idle units as necessary.
  • Reconfigure compressor cylinder arrangements as required to meet new contract needs.
  • Repair and maintain the heavy equipment inventory (HEI).
  • General housekeeping by helping to keep warehouse facilities and yards free from trash and debris.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of units as they enter and leave the storage yards.
  • Safely operate truck-mounted cranes, fork lifts, and other portable lifting equipment.
  • Maintain company vehicle according to company guidelines.
  • Help maintain parts inventory for storage yards.
  • Keep units clean and maintain safe working conditions.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Working Conditions

  • Periodic lifting requirements in excess of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk on uneven and varied terrain, climb ladders and stairs; and stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, and crawl depending on the task requirements.
  • Exposure to extremes in temperature and weather conditions depending upon assigned location.
  • Some exposure to high noise levels in excess of 85dBA that require ear protection, as well as exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals and materials.
  • Strong emphasis on safety while working with heavy equipment and machinery.

Requirements

  • Technical or trade school certification or additional work experience in a related field.
  • Preferred at least 2 years of experience in natural gas compression.
  • Valid driver’s license with a Motor Vehicle Record history acceptable to USA Compression.
  • Good communication/interface skills with customer field personnel, onsite vendors, and other tech teams.
  • Ability to operate independently with little or no supervision.
  • High degree of mechanical ability.
  • Experience reading and understanding technical manuals.
  • Experience in configuring natural gas compression equipment.
  • Ability to work extended hours.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal communication from the company and supervisor including training, procedures, and instructions.
  • Ability to legally work in the U.S.
