Service Tech
About the role
Wenger is seeking a skilled and motivated Equipment Technician to join our Technical Service Department. This role involves providing on-site technical service and support during field visits, installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment at customer locations, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, conducting equipment testing, delivering technical training to customers, and adhering to safety standards and client specifications.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site technical service and support during field visits
- Install, maintain, and repair equipment at customer locations
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently
- Conduct equipment testing and ensure operational stability
- Deliver technical training to customers as needed
- Maintain safety standards and follow client specifications
- Be available for work outside regular business hours, including weekends and holidays
- Understand extrusion processes for pet food, aquafeed, human food, and industrial starches
Requirements
- Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, preferred
- Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, electrical components, or industrial equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a technical environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience in a technical or mechanical field
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Pay
The estimated hourly pay range for this role is $28.00 - $34.00 an hour. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience.
Schedule
This is a full-time position with some travel required.
