About the role
Lead and support a team of refrigeration service technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service for customers. This role provides technical guidance, coordinates daily work activities, promotes teamwork, and ensures compliance with company policies and industry standards while maintaining excellent customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support refrigeration service technicians in the field.
- Assign and coordinate daily service calls and prioritize workloads to meet customer needs.
- Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance on commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable codes.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain strong customer relationships by providing professional and responsive service.
- Assist with training and development of technicians, including onboarding and skill enhancement.
- Review service reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate with dispatch, operations, and management to ensure timely completion of service work.
- Monitor parts usage and communicate material requirements to minimize downtime.
- Support after-hours and emergency service activities as required.
- Participate in performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure proper maintenance and care of company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school education preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial or industrial refrigeration service experience.
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving refrigeration systems, controls, and electrical components.
- EPA Certification required; additional industry certifications are preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work flexible hours and participate in an on-call rotation.
