About the role

The Field Technician II is a dual-qualified role combining mechanical maintenance and electronic systems expertise, designed to provide a versatile, field-ready technician capable of supporting all equipment on location.
Responsibilities
- Learn to motivate team members, promote clear communication, and gain insights into directing task execution.
- Observe crew performance to provide constructive feedback and address crew-related issues, escalating to management as needed.
- Develop the ability to create and manage crew schedules, coordinating with departments for resource allocation, and adjusting schedules based on operational demands.
- Serve as a customer contact, learning to address concerns professionally.
- Interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner, addressing their inquiries and concerns while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Be trained in task communication, monitoring work quality, enforcing safety protocols, participating in safety meetings, and understanding investigation procedures.
- Provide updates on crew activities, maintain attendance records, and identify opportunities for efficiency and safety improvements while working with management on enhancements.
- Operate specialized equipment in a safe and efficient manner, following company guidelines and best practices.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by always following and modeling safety protocols and guidelines.
- Promote a safety-conscious culture within the team.
- Assist with rigging up and rigging down equipment, which may involve physical labor and manual tasks.
- Be willing and flexible to travel to various locations as required by the job.
- Work on a schedule of two weeks on and one week off, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Able to read, speak, and write English.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant technical certifications or coursework is a plus.
- Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
- Must be able and willing to work long hours and weekly schedules that are not uniform on a day-to-day basis.
- CDL Class A license with greater than 1 year of applicable experience is preferred.
- Previous Frac experience in equipment operation and maintenance is preferred (Blender and Chem Add).
- Knowledge of Frac Fleet Operations and Frac Designs preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-centric approach.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Skills
- Knowledge of industrial gearboxes, chains, conveyers, bearings, and mechanical pumps.
- Knowledge of ethernet communications, HMIs, PLCs, PLC programming languages, contactors, soft-starter controllers, circuit breaker protectors, transformers, VFDs, and electric motors.
- Proficient knowledge of 12VDC and 24VDC systems required.
- Knowledge of 240VAC and 480VAC systems; proficiency up to 480VAC preferred.
- Previous field Mechanic or Electrical Technician experience in a frac setting preferred.
- Knowledge of frac fleet equipment and operations preferred.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-centric approach.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- May be required to walk long distances, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb, or balance to reach high places.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Willingness to travel and work in different environments.
- Proficient with software programs including Word, Excel, and Teams; able to effectively communicate via Teams and email.
- Must possess good hearing and vision as needed for work and safety compliance.
- Noise level could be moderate to very loud at times.
- Extensive travel to and from projects and various field assignments is required.
- Strong work ethic, integrity, and honesty.
- Dependable, reliable, and capable of fulfilling responsibilities as assigned.
