Job Summary
The Service Technician position at Everus 4EVER Strategy is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems. This role requires advanced electrical installations and troubleshooting in a service and special projects environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid Colorado (or reciprocal) JW or ME license
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Follows all safety protocols set by general contractor, owners, and Duro Electric as well as participates in morning stretches, weekly took box talks, and all safety stand downs.
- Proficiency in construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures in a service/special projects environment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings as well as the ability to use industry-specific testing equipment.
- Ability to use industry-specific installation tools and has strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
- Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to control and ability to supervise one to ten employees is essential.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule.
- Good oral and written skills are required to complete documentation, present information, and respond to questions from managers and customers.
- Must be able to coordinate work amongst groups including, but not limited to, internal and external customers, service, accounting, project management, etc.
- Advanced electrical troubleshooting skills
- Advanced blueprint reading and interpretation experience
- Strong attendance record and the ability to be prompt and on time daily.
- Ability to follow all company procedures and protocols including the employee handbook and operations manual.
- Ability to work and function in a dynamic teamwork environment.
- Must meet Duro’s minimum tool requirement and be proficient in use of required trade tools.
- Ability to coach and mentor employees and to utilize corrective action as appropriate.
- Ability to work and travel to sites within assigned territory.
- Intermediate computer skills, with MS Office, Bluebeam and other construction-related software.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fulfills all safety rules and regulations while on the job site and while operating company vehicles.
- Works independently or with other field leaders to plan installations that minimize wasted materials, provide appropriate accesses, avoid unsightly or hazardous installations and meet all appropriate electrical codes.
- Plans and supervises craft activities including method of construction, material quantities, equipment, temporary power sources, and documenting actual hours worked.
- Validates completion of all assigned job tasks and ensures craftsmanship is acceptable.
- Prepares sketches of proposed and/or installed materials, as necessary.
- Cultivates and maintains relationships with facility and client personnel.
- Troubleshoots electrical systems and equipment within varying facility types and sizes.
- Must be detail oriented with accuracy in work order descriptions and itemized material/labor breakdown.
- Provides accurate reporting to service manager for project scheduling, and manpower demands.
- Maintains liaison with engineering and planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule.
- Maintains liaison with vendors and Inspectors to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule.
- Expected to lead, train, and provide feedback for apprentices, JWs, and Service Technicians on the same job site.
- This position is required to drive regularly, potentially including multiple destinations daily.
- Other duties as assigned.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Must have and maintain a safe driving record.
- Current valid driver’s license required.
- Completes 24 hours of CEUs every three (3) years and maintains their active JW or ME license status.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- $38-$46 per hour
