Service Project Engineer

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Aid Project Manager in managing internal department relationships.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing Department on scope, price, submittals, and delivery of purchased items.
  • Coordinate installation procedures among Engineering, Construction, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage job progress on-site as needed, utilizing design expertise to address operational and installation challenges.
  • Plan work, track labor, materials, and deliveries, and manage project costs.
  • Escalate potential issues and assist in resolving them under the Project Manager's guidance.
  • Maintain, develop, and grow relationships with customers, prime contractors, trade partners, subcontractors, suppliers, and trade personnel.
  • Attend job kick-off, progress, foreman, and OAC meetings.
  • Interface with installers, suppliers, and subcontractors to provide information, direction, and detailed instructions.
  • Manage subcontractors to meet project expectations.

Position Requirements (Skills, Work Experience, Education, Certifications, Licenses, Etc.)

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A concentration in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, or 3-5 years of industry experience or a combination of experience and education.
  • High sense of integrity, business ethics, and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency and proven success in interpersonal relationship building and positive customer service interactions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to listen and follow directions.

Physical Requirements

  • Use hands and fingers to operate computer, tablet, keyboard, and/or telephone.

  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl (for purposes of assisting with project job walks and site inspections).
  • Lift, push, pull, carry, and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 30 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision.
  • Maintain regular and routine attendance.
  • Hours: Non-exempt position. Workdays are scheduled from Monday through Friday. Typically, work hours begin and end between 6:00am and 5:00pm as scheduled with the position’s supervisor. Occasional overtime may be necessary per business needs.
  • Travel: As required from time to and from the assigned office location to regional branch offices and/or to project/customer site(s).
