About the role

The Service Plumber ensures the smooth operation of all plumbing systems across industrial, commercial, and residential properties. This position involves servicing and repairing plumbing infrastructure, collaborating with contractors and code enforcement, and leading projects as the lead technician.

Responsibilities

  • Service and repair all plumbing systems, including water closets, urinals, sinks, faucets, drinking fountains, and associated piping while complying with NSF, ADA, and State Plumbing codes.
  • Interface with contractors and code enforcement agencies.
  • Service infrastructure such as sanitary lines, grease lines, oil lines, grease traps, lift stations, and interceptors.
  • Operate large cable commercial sewer machines and high-pressure line jetting equipment.
  • Service potable water systems, including water softeners, water heaters, backflow preventers, pumps, valves, and related assets.
  • Service natural gas systems, including above-ground and below-ground pipes, valves, and fittings.
  • Follow Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Install water, sewer lines, and gas systems.
  • Interpret blueprints and building specifications to map layouts for pipes, drainage systems, and plumbing materials in residential buildings.
  • Install pipes, fixtures, and supports in accordance with guidelines.
  • Assemble fittings and valves, and modify pipe lengths as needed.
  • Collaborate with construction workers, contractors, and other departments.
  • Maintain company vehicle (refueling, servicing, reporting issues, cleaning, and stocking).
  • Ensure a clean and safe work area while maintaining safety protocols.
  • Lead projects as the lead technician, overseeing helpers and ensuring professional, efficient work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (technical school preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial and commercial construction, maintenance, or a fast-paced plumbing repair service company.
  • 1+ year of experience with lift stations preferred.
  • Experience with residential plumbing systems.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of residential and light commercial plumbing codes.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and blueprints.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces (attics, under houses, etc.).
  • Ability to safely work at heights (ladders, rooftops, elevated equipment, balconies, staircases, and upper-level units).
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and elevated platforms routinely.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, twist, and bend for extended periods.
  • Ability to work from elevated surfaces, including ladders, stairs, and platforms.
  • Ability to maintain balance and stability while working at heights.
  • Lift and carry materials weighing up to 75 lbs; occasionally lift over 100 lbs with assistance.
  • Dexterity to place pipes with precision and accuracy.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, including in excessive heat and inclement weather.

Schedule

  • Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, with flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and after-hours as required.
  • Available for on-call rotation.
  • Willing to work overtime when needed.

Pay

$22 - $30 per hour (based on experience).
