Hugg & Hall Equipment Company is a full-service equipment dealer specializing in industrial and construction equipment since 1956, with 17 locations across Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.

About the role

Resident Service Mechanics function as part of the Service Team and are responsible for the care of various types of customer and company-owned equipment within a designated territory. This is a second-shift position (4:00pm–2:30am).

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair a variety of equipment at customer locations to restore each unit to operational and safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with salespeople, coordinators, managers, and customers regarding downtime and job progress updates.
  • Operate safely and efficiently with minimal supervision to minimize equipment downtime while maintaining safe working standards on-site and during vehicle operation.

Requirements

  • Ability to work second shift: 4:00pm–2:30am.
  • Minimum 1 year of mechanical training, education, or related experience.
  • Possess or ability to obtain a complete line of tools, including specialized tools required for on-site repairs.
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills

  • Above-average communication skills.
  • Ability to read or be trained in reading schematics.
  • Ability to accomplish duties with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical demands / Environmental conditions

  • Work in operating facilities and outdoors, traveling to customer locations in varying weather and temperatures.
  • Frequently work on equipment with potential hazards; appropriate safety equipment and practices required.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds; occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds.
  • Requires standing, walking, twisting, climbing, crawling, bending, stooping, kneeling, or squatting.
  • Daily handling/fingering tasks.
  • Driving a van/truck to and from customer locations.
  • Must wear safety glasses and safety shoes.
  • Must be medically capable of performing all job aspects with maximum safety.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive under the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment, the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, and the Louisiana Therapeutic Marijuana Act.
