About the role
Oversee all operations in the shop, directing the flow of all scheduled work using the shop management program, Shop Monkey. Implement and execute company procedures and policies, ensuring shop safety procedures are followed for the safety of team members and customers.
Responsibilities
- Instruct, coach, train, and manage shop technicians to ensure procedures are followed and a clean, safe work environment is maintained.
- Facilitate daily inspection of shop tools and equipment, ensuring usability and safety; schedule maintenance for broken or missing equipment and communicate needs to store management.
- Review and maintain proper Shop Monkey procedures, ensuring technicians document all required fields.
- Implement and execute all required TIA, ALI, and company guidelines pertaining to the shop.
- Enforce all company PPE and safety policies (e.g., safety glasses, gloves, torque procedures, lifting procedures).
- Oversee technician first torque procedure and perform manager secondary torque of all vehicles; verify completion of torque after technician’s initial work.
- Order product as needed through 1st Call and vendors for services and installs (excluding store stock items).
- Complete shop work schedule for staff and assist in hiring and recruiting shop personnel.
- Train all shop technicians and receive service-related products ordered for installs.
- Assist management with return-to-vendor (RTV) paperwork.
- Maintain and oversee a binder for customer special orders (e.g., center caps or wheel replacements).
- Complete weekly company truck maintenance and inspections in Shop Monkey; address any issues with management.
- Assist in the monthly Safety Audit and complete daily equipment calibration and safety inspections.
- Maintain a daily shop cleaning schedule and ensure customer returns are effectively managed, cleaned, labeled, and prepared for sale.
- Perform any other tasks deemed necessary by the store management team.
