Service Glazier
Position Summary
The Glazier is a hands-on field role focused on Service Glazing, performing installation, repair, and maintenance of glass and aluminum systems across commercial and residential applications. Daily work includes service tickets such as shower installations, storefront and entrance repairs, curtain wall service, and glass replacement. This role builds strong foundational glazing skills while developing toward Automatic Door Technician responsibilities, including service, troubleshooting, and installation of automatic door systems.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and replace glass in windows, doors, storefronts, curtain walls, and shower systems
- Complete service tickets including troubleshooting, adjustments, repairs, and emergency work
- Install and service entrance systems, including hardware, seals, and aluminum framing
- Measure, cut, fit, and install glass and framing materials to specification
- Assemble glazing systems ensuring proper alignment, fit, and operation
- Inspect and diagnose issues related to glass, framing, and door hardware
- Absorb and assist with automatic door installation, service, and basic troubleshooting
- Learn operation of automatic door components including sensors, activation devices, and safety systems
- Perform routine maintenance and operational checks on automatic doors
- Document work performed, materials used, and follow-up items
- Operate tools, equipment, and lifts safely and effectively
- Verify quality and functionality of completed work
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites and vehicles
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and team members
- Support Contract Glazing work as needed

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Vocational training or apprenticeship preferred
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug test
- Strong math and measurement skills
- Ability to lift 75 pounds regularly
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills
- Willingness to obtain AAADM certification
- Working knowledge or ability to learn: Automatic door systems and components, Aluminum storefront and entrance systems, Service diagnostics and troubleshooting, Familiarity with or ability to learn industry standards (ANSI/BHMA, OSHA), Mechanical aptitude and willingness to develop technical skills
Knowledge / Development Expectations

Compensation
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement (CBA). The current contractual wage rate for this position is $40.26 per hour, as established by the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Compensation is subject to the terms and conditions of the agreement, including any future negotiated wage adjustments.
