Responsibilities
- Report directly to the Service Manager on day-to-day management and long-range stewardship of the company’s equipment.
- Test and repair equipment by traveling to customer locations.
- Provide troubleshooting and perform installation of equipment.
- Attend to customer needs and ensure equipment functionality.
- Provide telephone support for troubleshooting when required.
- Deliver onsite services for individuals and organizations.
- Ensure equipment is in proper working condition after troubleshooting.
- Plan and execute all service and maintenance activities under the Permit-to-Work System if required.
- Participate in and lead the Safety Observation Card (SOC) program, reporting and closing out issues.
- Participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for service and maintenance activities, acting as a lead in the process.
- Ensure proper loading of the Service Truck with tools and inventory to maximize efficiency.
- Coordinate service activities with clients to minimize downtime.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels and coordinate receiving, issuing, and control of parts.
- Maintain housekeeping in shop and office areas.
- Document comprehensive handover notes and ensure communication between maintenance disciplines.
- Report equipment damage to the Service Manager and ensure proper documentation and follow-up.
- Stay updated on operational and technical bulletins relevant to your area of responsibility.
- Attend pre-tour, pre-job, weekly safety meetings, and other client or third-party safety meetings as required.
- Enforce proper use of PPE within your work area.
- Schedule inspection, certification, and upkeep of equipment such as rigging and lifting equipment, radios, environmental equipment, emergency and fire-fighting equipment, and forklifts.
- Ensure all certification and training requirements are met and maintained as per the company training matrix.
- Assist with shop activities and ongoing operations and repairs when not in the field.
- Represent the company professionally both on and off the job, maintaining confidentiality of company and client business.
- Fulfill all other requirements as directed by company policy and the Area Manager.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a technical or field services role.
- Commitment to Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE).
- Previous experience as a Field Service Technician.
Desired Characteristics
- At least 2.5 years’ experience in a service or maintenance capacity.
- Enthusiasm to build a new company with cultural diversity.
- Relevant trade certificate and minimum one year of maintenance or service background in a similar capacity with a good safety record.
