Service Engineer
About The Role
The Service Engineer coordinates warranty and billable field services for installation and commissioning of new machines as well as troubleshooting and repairs. Makes decisions on warranty cases and provides technical support to internal and external customers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provides technical support to customers.
- Makes warranty decisions on warranty claims in conjunction with the factory and the customers.
- Creates action plans for supporting customer complaints in the field.
- Collaborates with factory teams, customers, third party shops, and WEC teams to evaluate issues.
- Executes and supports the evaluation of warranty claims and technical support requests.
- Defines scope of work for repairs in the field and in-house.
- Quotes repairs in the field and in-house.
- Recommends measures to improve warranty methods, performance, and quality of service.
- Participates in joint field service calls with the field service team.
- Keeps and promotes good communication with customers, suppliers, factory teams, and team members.
Education
Engineering degree or equivalent direct related work experience.
Knowledge / Training
- Knowledge of electric machines, construction, and operation.
- Understanding of industrial applications for motors and generators.
- Ability to read schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Basic vibration analysis.
- Able to use diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Intermediate level of MS Office, required.
- Negotiation experience.
Experience
4+ years of relevant work experience is required.
