About the role

Christman Facility Solutions, LLC is seeking a Service Director - MEP to lead the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Datacom department in the Dallas, Texas region. This role oversees the management and operations of these departments.

Responsibilities

  • Manages personnel assigned to the CFS Service and Warehouse division.
  • Works closely with and thoroughly communicates with CFS leadership to ensure alignment of objectives.
  • Creates, modifies, and implements processes and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance throughout the division.
  • Calls for and attends meetings as required.
  • Maintains a positive culture that praises and rewards good performance and continues to nurture and develop its people.
  • Engages in the onboarding process to support growth and manage attrition.
  • Manages, tracks, and supports division personnel to ensure that proper training and/or continuing education is completed in a timely manner.
  • Attends company and business development functions as required.
  • Engages in business development and utilizes existing relationships in the market to support the growth efforts of Christman.
  • Makes sure project financials are monitored and managed, as well as overall division financials.
  • Ensures weekly timecards are properly entered for assigned employees.
  • Performs yearly evaluations for assigned employees.
  • Learns and implements a strategic plan each year, ensuring the continued success of the business unit.
  • Responds to client RFPs, working with marketing, project planning, and operations leaders to ensure a complete proposal is submitted, and clearly communicates CFS's approach and qualifications.
  • Supports project planning/estimating teams to ensure project budgets are maintained throughout design.
  • Engages operations staff as needed to ensure continuity.
  • Develops preliminary cash flow reports, schedules, and other project documents as needed.
  • Oversees the development and issuance of all bid packages, ensuring risk is mitigated through proper buyout and contract execution.
  • Supports operations teams to ensure the project is delivered to the complete satisfaction of the client.
  • Ensures all aspects of the project are executed according to Christman’s standards, including safety, risk management, scheduling, and quality.
  • Ensures the client is satisfied with the project outcomes and the closeout package is complete.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, or a related job field.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of direct construction management experience including the management of individuals and teams.
  • Intermediate computer knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration preferred.

  • Well organized, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and negotiation abilities.
  • Must possess the ability to adapt to different personalities, management styles, and team compositions.
  • Team player and with strong interpersonal, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Experienced in managing projects large in scale, size, and complexity.
  • Proven success managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and experience managing multiple delivery methods – General Construction, Construction Management, and Design-Build.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques, as well as accounting principles.

Schedule

Full time position, with occasional extended hours and weekends. Must have reliable transportation. Travel to and from the construction site is required, majority of the work will be done at the site. Most of the travel will be local, but some long distance and overnight travel may be required.
