Job Description

The Service Development Representative is responsible for implementing business and marketing plans within their assigned territory. This role collects information from referring professionals or facilities and meets with potential patients to conduct pre-admission screenings, serving as a liaison between referral sources and the Hospital. Information gathered is submitted to the Intake Department for admission eligibility determination. The Service Development Representative assists patients and families in identifying appropriate care alternatives and communicates pre-screening results and recommendations to patients, families, and referral sources in accordance with company policy. This position plays an active role in community service development. Representatives provide consultative support and educational services throughout the month while promoting mental health prevention awareness. The Representative develops positive relationships with community resources and professional networks to ensure a seamless continuum of care and maintain strong collaborative partnerships. The ultimate goal of this position is to improve the overall quality of life for mental health patients referred to the organization.

While performing job duties, the employee may occasionally be exposed to: Fumes or airborne particles, Moderate to high noise levels, Cleaning chemicals, Dust, mist, and steam generated during housekeeping tasks. This is a smoke-free workplace. Work requires spending approximately 75% or more of the time indoors in an environment protected from weather conditions, though not necessarily from temperature changes.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing for moderate periods of time (60–80% of the work shift)
  • Sitting for extended periods (at least 4 hours)
  • Walking as required to perform job duties
  • Lifting and carrying more than 10 pounds as needed

Functional Requirements

  • The Ability To Perform The Following: Reaching, Extending hands and arms in any direction, Handling, Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hands, Fingering, Picking, pinching, and working primarily with the fingers, Feeling, Perceiving attributes such as size, shape, temperature, or texture through touch, Talking, Expressing or exchanging ideas through spoken communication, Hearing, Perceiving sounds by ear, Seeing, Obtaining visual impressions of shape, size, distance, motion, and other characteristics of objects, including: Far and near acuity, Depth perception, Field of vision, Accommodation, Color vision, Exposure Category, Category II (Tasks involve potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.)

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Experience

  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing preferred, or business development experience with a healthcare focus.
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in healthcare sales, service development, or the medical industry required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Proven experience in marketing, sales, customer service, or clinical education, Experience using mobile tools and applications, Ability to consistently meet and exceed performance goals, Proficiency with tablets and smartphones
