Key Responsibilities
- Heavy Refuse Management: Regularly lift, dump, and manage large, high-volume trash cans and service bay waste bins containing heavy automotive debris. Coordinate waste disposal and keep the dumpster areas clean.
- Floor Maintenance: Operate a motorized industrial floor scrubber daily to remove oil, grease, fluid spills, and tire tracks from the shop floor. Manually mop and detail tight spaces, corners, and areas inaccessible by the scrubber to maintain a pristine, slip-free environment.
- Shop & Service Cleanliness: Clean and organize the entire service department, including technician bays, write-up areas, parts counters, and tool storage zones.
- Safety & Compliance: Immediately identify and clean up hazardous fluid spills (oil, coolant, brake fluid) using proper safety protocols and absorbent materials. Ensure walkways and emergency exits remain completely clear of debris.
- Facility Upkeep: Maintain clean service restrooms, breakrooms, and customer-facing service driveways. Empty recycling, restock cleaning supplies, and notify management when inventory is low or maintenance equipment requires service.
Physical Requirements
- Heavy Lifting: Ability to routinely lift, push, and pull 50 to 75+ lbs (e.g., loaded high-volume trash bins, heavy equipment parts, and fluid containers).
- Stamina & Mobility: Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform continuous physical labor for the duration of an 8-hour shift on concrete floors.
Environment
Comfortable working in a loud, active automotive shop environment that is subject to varying outdoor temperatures, fumes, and dust.
