About the role

The Service Department Head is responsible for overall department results, including safety, quality control, profitability, and customer satisfaction for commercial and industrial service work.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe working environment for BRC crews, subcontractors, and others
• Maintain and improve quality control
• Motivate and direct office and field employees, including interviewing, hiring, training, and promoting growth
• Coordinate sales efforts with sales teams and provide necessary support
• Oversee setup, processing, and invoicing of work orders
• Review aging reports and resolve any issues
• Promote continual growth of the department at quarterly targets set by the General Manager
• Improve quality control and customer satisfaction
• Coordinate with Department Heads and Service Managers at other branches

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in the roofing industry
• High school diploma (college preferred)
• 30 Hour OSHA Construction card (First Aid/CPR/Bloodborne pathogen training preferred)
• Extensive knowledge of roofing systems: BUR, shingles, tile, single-ply, metal, waterproofing techniques, trusses, lightweight concrete deck systems, and related AC work
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and scheduling software
• Excellent writing and organizational skills
• High degree of self-confidence and professionalism
• Fluent in English (Spanish a plus)

Pay

$100K - $110K total on-target earnings (OTE), including a base salary of $70K - $85K.

• Standing for long periods
• Climbing ladders, scaffolds, and stairways
• Lifting, balancing, and carrying materials (up to 50 pounds regularly)
• Repetitive movement, bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, stooping, or crawling
• Close-range detail work
• Use of abdominal and lower back muscles for extended periods

Work Environment

• Exposure to extreme temperatures (above 90°F or below 32°F)
• Bright or inadequate lighting, loud noise levels
• Exposure to contaminants, hazardous materials, or equipment
• High-risk conditions, including heights and dangerous environments
