Service & Delivery Technician III

Main Responsibilities

• Support standard hardware platforms and systems installed throughout Safeway
• Repair all approved standard technology hardware including PC/Server hardware, Network hardware, RF hardware, and printers
• Provide complete recoverability of systems and applications
• Troubleshoot and configure various pieces of IT hardware unique to retail
• Conduct break-fix repair on computers, printers, POS Systems, scales, and Network Servers
• Work on different projects and learn new technologies
• Learn all facets of store support, network with fellow Technicians, and support store directors

• Working knowledge of IT hardware, installation models, and Windows, MS Office, and related applications
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and be a strong collaborative partner in a matrixed organization
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, day, evening, and overnight, as well as on-call support capacity
• Strong sense of urgency, business ethics, dependability, and follow through

Qualifications and Experience

• High school graduate, BA/BS degree preferred, or 3+ years' technical/training/hardware certifications preferred
• Information Technology project implementation exposure with 5+ years' technical systems and 2+ years' technical support experience
• 2+ years' experience with retail store systems, technology systems, and hardware
• 2+ years' experience with installation and configuration of desktop and peripheral technology

Physical Environment

• Must sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time
• May spend long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal
• Will use keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during normal workday
• Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
• Workday is fast paced; some evening and weekend work may be required
• Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds of equipment, some twisting and turning with equipment installs
