Service Deli Clerk

Responsibilities

• Prepare, slice, wrap, weigh, price, and merchandise deli products
• Maintain high standards for product freshness, cleanliness, and sanitation
• Inform guests about deli products and services
• Hand out food samples and recommend additional items to increase sales
• Possess sufficient knowledge and ability to teach others the fundamentals of deli production (mixing, scaling, slicing, cooking, frying, finishing)
• Maintain a high level of coordination and communication with other departments to ensure smooth product flow and service
• Maintain adequate and appropriate department records at all times
• Demonstrate maximum customer relations through friendly and courteous behavior

Requirements

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Weekend shifts required (Sundays as applicable)
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend throughout the workday; maneuver heavy objects up to 30 pounds
• Regularly required to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach; perform repetitive motion tasks; eye, hand, and foot coordination; hear and respond to customer inquiries
• Possible exposure to hot or cold conditions

Skills

• Knowledge of deli production fundamentals and ability to teach others
• Strong coordination and communication skills for inter‑departmental collaboration
