Service Crew B - Cypress Bend

The Cypress Bend facility is located in the historic Mississippi River Delta and produces bleached paperboard and bleached Kraft pulp, used in the production of folding cartons, commercial print paperboard, carded packaging, and cupstock. It spans over 730 acres and employs approximately 300 talented individuals. The community offers a variety of outdoor activities and opportunities for social and civic engagement.

About the role

The Service Crew position serves as the entry-level role at Cypress Bend, focusing on learning various aspects of the manufacturing facility, performing general housekeeping tasks, and supporting efficient operations to produce a high-quality product. Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and transporting product at different stages and areas of the site
• Assisting Operators during downtime, machine and product changes, and product start-ups
• Aiding in quality decisions and clean-ups, meeting quality standards
• Providing coverage for Operators during vacation and time off
• Performing minor maintenance activities and assisting the Maintenance Team
• Conducting routine inspections of equipment in their area, advising Operators as needed
• Attending all required training provided by the Company
• Maintaining a clean working environment by complying with procedures and housekeeping responsibilities
• Pickling debris from work area, sweeping, and using high-pressure hoses to clean around heavy equipment

Responsibilities

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

• A High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum 2 years continuous work experience in a manufacturing, production, industrial, or labor-intensive work environment (preferred)
• Understanding and compliance with all manufacturing safety procedures, including personal protective equipment (required)
• Physical capability to work in a physically demanding environment, including temperature extremes, loud noise, avoiding slipping, tripping, and falling hazards
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs frequently, between 40 and 50 lbs occasionally, and over 50 lbs minimally, with assistance for heavier loads
• Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Able to work overtime as needed

• Work in a physically demanding environment including temperature extremes, loud noise, avoiding slipping, tripping, and falling hazards
• Physically capable of manual labor that includes bending, walking, sitting, and climbing in and around machinery and equipment for the entire 12-hour shift
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs frequently, between 40 and 50 lbs occasionally, and over 50 lbs minimally, with assistance for heavier loads
• Work in a 12-hour rotating shift including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Able to work overtime as needed
