Service Coordinator II-Vanderbilt Apartments
About the role
The Service Coordinator at Vanderbilt Apartments is responsible for coordinating programs and services to help residents maintain a high quality of life. They serve as a liaison to community agencies and network with service providers to ensure residents have access to necessary resources.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison to community agencies and network with service providers
- Identify low-cost service providers and/or negotiate discounts
- Engage all residents in the building(s) to identify areas of need and make referrals to community agencies when necessary
- Develop a Resource Directory that includes a listing of state and/or local service providers
- Sponsor educational events that include subjects relating to health care, agency support, life skills and referral sources
- Provide quality customer service to all residents addressing concerns and assisting with basic needs
- Aid residents in acquiring and utilizing desired community services such as housekeeping, meals, transportation, personal services, financial assistance, day care counseling
- Report all complaints made by residents and/or families
- Manage relationships, both internally and externally exercising appropriate communication and interpersonal skills
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field is preferred. Two or more years of experience in a social service delivery with elderly and/or family populations is required. Demonstrated working knowledge of supportive services and other resources in the area served by the project is essential. Must have demonstrated ability to advocate, organize, problem-solve, and provide results for the residents served.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must be able to assume responsibility for coordinating programs and activities for residents, serve as a liaison to community agencies, and engage all residents in the building(s) to identify areas of need and make referrals to community agencies when necessary.
Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. Ability to manage relationships, both internally and externally, is essential. Knowledge of supportive services and community resources is necessary.
