We are seeking an experienced individual to take on the role of Service Coordinator, responsible for dispatching Rudd’s Service Technicians to customer sites to achieve optimum operational efficiency and superior customer service. This position requires in-office presence; the essential functions cannot be performed remotely.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and dispatch field operations of Field Service Technicians to diagnose, repair, and service customer equipment.
- Manage and schedule field service activities.
- Take customer calls and handle technical questions from customers and field technicians.
- Respond efficiently to customer issues and concerns, addressing questions, problems, and service requests.
- Monitor the status of service calls and communicate with customers when additional parts or trips are required.
- Record and maintain files of customer requests, work performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information.
- Monitor technician safety and DOT compliance through field service management software and notify technicians/management when necessary.
- Prepare equipment repair quotations.
- Open and monitor service/repair work orders for accuracy (e.g., parts, materials, labor).
- Perform all work in accordance with established quality standards and safety procedures.
- Work independently, making key decisions on behalf of the location and keeping management informed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in the construction and mining equipment industry, specifically in product support (e.g., parts, technical, or supervisory roles).
Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, and customers.
- Familiarity with MS Office (Excel, Word).
Physical Demands
- Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting, including standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Occasional use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, twist, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly lift, carry, push, or pull light to moderate weights (up to 10 lbs.) and occasionally up to 20–50 lbs.
- Operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination, including computer keyboards.
- Verbally communicate to exchange information.
- Work in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus and see color.
Work Environment
This job operates in an office environment at a location that requires climbing stairs regularly to reach the work desk.
Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt position. Normal workdays are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
