Responsibilities
- Enhance residents' ability to live independently in developments.
- Assess residents' and community members' needs and link them to services.
- Plan and implement educational opportunities promoting health and well-being.
- Develop and support meaningful engagement between building residents and the surrounding community.
- Perform administrative duties related to Housing.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated working knowledge of community services in the region with particular knowledge of services for the elderly and disabled.
- Trained in the aging process, elder services, disability services, drug and alcohol abuse, and mental health issues.
- Strong knowledge of the social service system for the elderly/disabled.
- Ability to work with multiple agencies and understand their organizational priorities.
- Supervision of appropriate volunteers.
- Proven ability to build a collaborative project.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of community resources and programs benefiting senior citizens, low-income families, and disabled persons.
- Computer literate, especially proficient in Microsoft Office and email.
Education, Training and/or Experience
- Previous affordable housing experiences a plus.
- Must have good basic math and writing skills.
- Detail oriented and well organized.
- Ability to interact with low-income families, senior citizens, and disabled persons.
