Service Clerk - 719 Moreno Valley

About the role

The Service Clerk position at Smart & Final, Moreno Valley, offers an excellent opportunity to provide exceptional customer service while contributing to the community. This role is part of the Chedraui USA group of companies, dedicated to providing customers with fresh produce, quality meats, and groceries.

Responsibilities

• Collect and organize shopping carts within the store and retrieve carts from the parking lot and surrounding areas.
• Absorb and assist customers with the loading of merchandise into shopping carts.
• Provide assistance to customers' vehicles as needed.
• Check retail prices on shelves for check stand personnel.
• Pull merchandise from the check stand ("go backs") and return it to the proper shelf.
• Walk aisles and return misplaced items to their proper locations.
• Face merchandise on aisles as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store entrance by sweeping, mopping, and picking up trash.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store throughout the day by sweeping, mopping, and restocking restrooms as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to interact with the general public and co-workers.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Qualifications

• Basic PC/Outlook skills.
• Retail Management Certificate (preferred).

Pay
