Service Clerk - 485 Pasadena

About the role

The Service Clerk position at Smart & Final Pasadena is a fast-paced role where you'll be interacting with the community and providing excellent customer service. This role is part of the Chedraui USA group of companies, dedicated to offering fresh produce, quality meats, and groceries.

Responsibilities

• Collect and organize shopping carts within the store and retrieve carts from the parking lot and surrounding areas.
• Absorb and assist customers with the loading of merchandise into shopping carts.
• Provide assistance to customers loading their vehicles.
• Check retail prices on shelves for check stand personnel.
• Pull merchandise from the check stand ("go backs") and return it to the proper shelf.
• Walk aisles and return any misplaced items to their proper location.
• Face merchandise on aisles as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store entrance by sweeping, picking up trash, and cleaning the front area and entrance/exit doors daily.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store throughout the day by sweeping, mopping, and restocking restrooms as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to interact with the general public and co-workers.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Qualifications

• Basic PC/Outlook skills.
• Retail Management Certificate (preferred).
