Service Cashier/Administrator

About the role

The Service Cashier/Administrator processes payments for work completed or parts purchased, reconciles repair orders and parts invoices, and collects money from Parts and Service transactions in the dealership.

Responsibilities

• Inspect every service repair order and/or parts invoice for proper completion and accuracy
• Reconcile repair orders by transferring information from hard copies to soft copies
• Calculate materials charges and applicable taxes for each order
• Collect total retail charges from customers via cash, check, or authorized charge account
• Provide customers with correct change and/or receipts
• Complete the accounting section of repair orders as directed by the controller
• Update customer service history files according to department procedures
• Deliver all closed repair orders and parts invoices to the accounting department daily
• Control keys for completed repair orders, return them to customers or porters when bills are paid, and direct customers to their vehicles
• File repair orders as directed by the service department manager
• Answer and transfer service department phone calls, take messages when needed personnel are unavailable
• Control and submit sublet bills associated with repair orders to the business office
• Handle customer complaints promptly with genuine concern, following dealership guidelines
• Report any situations jeopardizing safety, welfare, or dealership integrity to management
• Perform other administrative tasks as directed by management

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, add, subtract, divide, and comprehend written instructions
• 6–12 months previous work experience (preferred)
• Demonstrated customer service skills
• Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous industry experience (preferred)

Pay

$20/hr (hourly role).
