Service Associate - Make Ready

About the Role

Responsibilities include preparation of vacant apartment homes for move-ins, ensuring established standards are met and apartments are turned in a timely manner. When needed, you will assist with pool maintenance and grounds keeping.

Reports to: Community Manager and Lead Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Prepare vacant apartment homes for move-in.
• Review the make-ready board and take direction from the Community Manager and/or Maintenance Manager to determine action to be taken on apartment homes.
• Make all repairs/replacements necessary for unit to be occupied as outlined on the make-ready checklist.
• Apply touch-up and full-paints as needed to interior and exterior of apartment homes.
• Clean out all trash from apartment homes before, during, and after make-ready activity.
• Inspect completed apartment homes and schedule any necessary follow-up work before designating the unit as “Ready”.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certifications as required by State and Local Jurisdictions.
• Skilled in the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, user-moved aids, mechanical equipment, and measuring devices.
• Ability to handle plumbing repairs, tile work, appliance repair, carpentry repairs, electrical repairs, and all facets of apartment make-ready.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, or other malfunctions and make repairs or correct problems.
• Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions and plans.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with vendors, contractors, clients, and employees at all levels.
• Ability to read and write in English to interpret diagrams, meters, instructions, etc.
• Basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA Requirements.
• Must supply own tools.
