Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair vehicle malfunctions
- Communicate with parts department for necessary parts
- Document safety or service work requirements
- Attend training classes to advance to main line technician
- Follow federal, state, and local regulations
- Quality check work performed on vehicles
- Account for all dealership-owned tools
- Comply with “leave no trace” standard
Requirements
- 1-2 years of general maintenance or mechanic experience
- Technical schooling from a mechanic program
- ASE certification and Safety & Emissions certification
- General mechanical skills
- Previous dealership experience
- Excellent manual dexterity, patience, creativity, and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
Qualifications
- Desired: 1 to 2 years of general maintenance or mechanic experience
- PREFERRED: Technical schooling from a mechanic program
- ASE certification and Safety & Emissions certification
- General mechanical skills
- Previous dealership experience
