Service and Repair Mechanic
About the role
OES Equipment, part of the DPR Family of Companies, is a fast-paced construction supply and equipment rental company. We are seeking an experienced Service and Repair Mechanic who performs inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of rental equipment to ensure safety, compliance, and operational reliability. The role supports both shop-based and limited field service activities, restores equipment to “Ready to Rent” status, and maintains documentation accuracy and safety compliance. You will work closely with branch leadership and operations teams to prioritize repairs based on business needs and may assist with field service support as required.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel-powered rental equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Perform preventive maintenance and execute OEM-recommended service schedules to maintain fleet health and compliance.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, identify repair scope, and escalate complex failures to Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Service & Repair Lead when necessary.
- Generate, update, and close work orders documenting diagnostics, labor, parts usage, and repair outcomes to support fleet reporting and audit requirements.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, OES EHS, and site-specific safety standards while ensuring proper use of PPE and safe repair practices.
- Assist with parts ordering, stock management, and inventory organization to support timely equipment turnaround.
- Collaborate with branch staff and operations teams to prioritize production equipment repairs based on fleet demand.
Requirements
- High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
- Technical or vocational training in mechanical repair, diesel technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in equipment service, repair, or related mechanical field required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-Hour General Industry certification required.
- Commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred.
- Must own and provide tools needed for the position.
