Zolman Tire, Inc., a locally owned and operated business founded in 1978, serves the automotive, light truck, and commercial repair, tire, and wheel needs of customers in multiple locations across Indiana and Michigan. Responsibilities
- Greet customers and assess customer needs
- Explain and obtain approval from customers for unexpected repairs
- Answer telephones using Best-One phone standards
- Operate point of sale system to create work orders and invoice customers in a timely and efficient manner
- Operate the company’s flat-rate computer system
- Compute sales prices, total purchases, and process payments
- Maintain knowledge of current promotions, policies regarding payment, exchanges, and returns, and security practices
- Open and close cash registers, including counting money, balancing drawers, and making deposits
- Generate computer invoices
- Inventory materials and supplies
- Arrange and display merchandise to promote sales
- Inspect, clean, and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or safety violations
- Absorb and assist in maintaining grounds/store/customer area cleanliness
- Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands / Work Environment
- Lifting passenger & light truck tires or parts (40+ lbs)
- Standing and sitting for extended periods of time
- Read ticket and perform work listed; write confirmations and recommendations
- Environment: Occasional exposure environment that is not climate controlled. Temperatures range from extremely hot to extremely cold, depending on the season.
- Skills & Abilities
- Education: High school graduate or general education degree (GED)
- Experience: 2-4 years of sales experience in automotive repair industry preferred
- Management Experience Required
- Certifications / Licenses: Valid driver’s license; driving record must meet company’s insurance requirements
- Computer: Ongoing training is required per company’s standards
- Ability to learn and operate point of sale system to create work orders and invoice customers in a timely and efficient manner
