Responsibilities
- Aid the Service Manager in daily operations, including scheduling and distributing work to technicians and yard team.
- Utilize Service Scheduler and other tools to generate and manage work orders.
- Use manufacturer flat rate guides and Standard Service Operations (SSO’s) to determine the time allotted for the work and ensure timely completion.
- Note the Complaint, Cause and Correction of each problem in the IDS work order.
- Coordinate with manufacturers and/or extended warranty companies for repair approvals, taking necessary precautions to ensure payment.
- Greet customers, provide clear and precise instructions for technicians, and answer incoming calls professionally.
- Promote sales of additional labor services, parts, and accessories in a professional manner.
- Obtain customer signatures on work orders and collect payment before releasing the customer's boat.
- In the case of unknown initial repair costs, obtain customer approval for work orders to diagnose issues and provide an estimate for repairs promptly after determination.
- Schedule, coordinate, and follow up on sublet contractors.
- Inspect the quality of work performed as needed, prior to delivery to the customer.
- Communicate with the customer during repairs and coordinate customer pick-up.
- Finalize and invoice work orders.
- Provide prompt, detailed, and timely flow of all paperwork.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a customer service or technical support role is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Service Scheduler software is required. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
