Service Advisor

Responsibilities

• Effectively communicate with customers relating to warranty claims.
• Monitor warranty schedules and post warranty credits.
• Advise customers about necessary service for routine maintenance.
• Help identify mechanical problems by questioning the customer or conducting visual inspections or road tests.
• Confer with customers about inspection results, recommend corrective procedures, and prepare work orders for needed repairs.
• Prepare repair orders showing time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Write brief descriptions of customer concerns on repair orders to assist technicians.
• Explain completed work and repair order charges to customers.
• Handle customer complaints.
• Schedule service appointments.
• Obtain customer and vehicle data prior to arrival when possible.
• Greet customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtain vehicle information.
• Test drive vehicles with customers as needed to confirm problems or refer to test technicians.
• Refer to service history, inspect vehicles, and recommend additional needed service.
• Advise customers on vehicle care and the value of maintaining their vehicles according to manufacturer specifications.
• Provide complete and accurate written cost estimates for labor and parts.
• Establish "promised time" and check with the dispatcher if necessary.
• Notify the dispatcher of incoming work.
• Check on repair progress throughout the day and contact customers regarding any changes in estimates or promised time.
• Implement and maintain a service marketing program.
• Review repair orders to ensure work is completed and additional work is noted. Close repair orders as appropriate.
• Ensure vehicles are parked in assigned areas, locked, and keys are marked and stored correctly.
• Implement a quality control process to eliminate comebacks.
• Maintain high customer satisfaction standards.
• Handle telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in progress.
• Inspect vehicles for body work, inform customers if work is needed, and provide estimates.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with computers and new software.
• High School Graduate or GED.
• Valid Driver's License.

Pay

$20.00 - $24.00 per hour based on experience.

Schedule

Full Time.
