Server/Wait Staff - Full Time & Part Time

About the role

The Wait Staff Person is responsible for providing residents, guests, and staff who take meals in the dining room with prompt, efficient, and courteous service. They set tables in an attractive manner prior to customers arriving for meals, serve food (including beverages) in a professional manner, and clear tables and clean dining areas in a timely manner. They provide information to customers regarding food and meal services and receive and respond to comments from customers relating to Food Service.

Responsibilities

• Set tables attractively before meals.
• Serve food and beverages in a professional manner.
• Clear tables and clean dining areas promptly.
• Provide information about menu items and meal services.
• Respond to customer comments and feedback regarding Food Service.
• Demonstrate patience and a caring attitude toward elderly and disabled persons.
• Handle angry or aggressive behavior from customers, including those with short-term memory loss.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service orientation and a pleasant, cheerful disposition.
• Reliability, accuracy, and attention to detail regarding menu items and ordering.
• One or more years of experience in a Food Service setting or direct customer service (preferred).
• Basic knowledge of therapeutic diets and sanitary practices (HAACP guidelines).
• Ability to read and write menu items in English.
• Current State of Washington Food Handler’s permit.
• Flexibility, a positive outlook, and a healthy sense of humor.

Pay

$22.00 per hour, non-exempt/hourly (plus DOE).

Schedule

• Full-Time: 11:30 AM – 7:30 PM
• Part-Time: 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM
