Server/Wait Staff

About the role

Riddle Village, a lifecare retirement community, seeks Part-Time Servers to join their dining department team. Applicants must be customer-service oriented, enjoy working with the elderly, and meet the job requirements.

Responsibilities

• Inform residents of the menu selections for the day and professionally serve meals with a high level of customer service.
• Greet and inform residents and guests of available menu selections.
• Takes residents and guests food orders and assists with meal selections if requested.
• Presents meals to residents and guests in a friendly and pleasant manner.
• Always address residents by name and become knowledgeable of their likes and dislikes in food and beverages.
• Is alert and attentive to residents' needs and any problems, such as food dislikes or service issues.
• Clears the table when residents are finished dining.
• Buys tables when the meal has been completed and resets the tables as they become available.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must like to smile and smile often.
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions in the English language.
• Must have an interest in working with the elderly.
• Must be able to work well under pressure, organize workloads, and meet time deadlines.
• Must have a strong sense of timing and how to apply it to a serving structure.
• Must display excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, both individually and as part of a team, and maintain a professional demeanor throughout the entire shift.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for short distances with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must be able to stand majority of the time, walk short distances, stoop for and reach for food. Must be able to lift food and equipment and withstand changes in temperature going in and out of coolers and freezers with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must be able to work every other weekend and at least one day per week from 4 PM to 8 PM (exception: Sunday shift is 11 AM 3 PM).
