Server - The Inn at Stonecliffe

About the Role

The Inn at Stonecliffe is seeking an energetic, experienced, and service-oriented Server to join our team for the season, running from now through late October on beautiful Mackinac Island. The ideal candidate will already have their own housing on Mackinac Island.

Responsibilities

• Seat guests and take accurate food orders.
• Monitor food distribution, ensuring meals are delivered correctly, properly prepared, and nicely presented or the buffet is appealing.
• Check station before, during, and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.
• Abide by all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations, including serving alcoholic beverages responsibly.
• Be familiar with all menu items, their preparation, and service procedures.
• Total checks, present them to guests, and accept payment.
• Assist with bussing tables.
• Perform various other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school education; post-high school education preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a hotel or restaurant serving role.

Skills

• Team player with the ability to multi-task.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to exceed guest and team member expectations.
• Proficiency in operating equipment such as cash registers and calculators.
• Basic mathematical skills for making change and giving refunds.
• Ability to work flexible hours and shifts.
