Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee the cleanliness and readiness of the dining room and food service areas, ensuring all areas comply with health and safety regulations.
- Lead and develop the dining team by interviewing, training, and providing coaching.
- Aid in community marketing efforts through positive interactions, dress, and behavior.
- Support the Dining Services team by assisting Servers, Cooks, and other staff with their job duties and taking on their responsibilities as needed.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, residents, and guests following established safety standards, policies, and procedures.
Education Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
- A college degree or education courses in food service or management is preferred.
- First Aid, Food Handler’s, and ServSafe Certification is required.
Experience Requirements
- 1+ years of work experience in dining room operations or a similar environment.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Must be mobile and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, including standing for prolonged periods, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, pulling, lifting overhead, and repetitive motion.
- Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday and throughout the community.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and push up to 250 pounds, as necessary.
Required Competencies/Licenses/Certifications
- Must be 18 or older.
- Must complete required Background clearances, health screening, and provide negative TB test results within 7 days of employment (must be within the last 6 months).
- Must have basic math skills and excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, write, and read English.
- Must possess the ability to make sound, independent decisions when circumstances warrant and remain calm during stressful or emergency situations.
- Must possess the ability to operate standard service equipment and minimize waste and misuse of supplies and equipment.
- Must possess the ability to always deal tactfully and professionally with personnel, residents, family members, and guests.
